Anatel will block non-homologated mobile phones in Sao Paulo and 14 more states

Anatel started January this year a new phase of blocking the non-homologated mobile phones in Sao Paulo stat, the largest state with active cell phone lines in the country, and another 14 states.

The 15 states that will have this action are:
Alagoas, Amapá, Amazonas, Bahia, Ceará, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Paraíba, Pará, Piauí, Pernambuco, Rio Grande do Norte, São Paulo, Sergipe, Roraima….
On a first moment, the agency will only issue warnings to the people that activates a pirate phone from today on, and the message will be:
 “Carrier warns: By the law 9.472 this mobile phone will not work anymore within 75 days”
The blocking of these devices will start on March 24th. Until then, notifications will be sent.
